Will Monaghan is a Scottish artist living and working in Dorset, England (South West). With an early career in design and technical illustration, working digitally came naturally. Yet their artistic practice has gradually evolved through studies in Fine Art and Painting at the Open College of the Arts. Their work now moves between painting, photo-etching, and mixed processes that combine digital preparation with hand-drawn and engraved marks. Landscape, particularly the wild terrains of Dartmoor, the Jurassic Coast in Dorset and West Cornwall, is a recurring focus, approached through texture, atmosphere, and layered surfaces rather than direct depiction.
They are a member of Poole Printmakers and exhibits with the group. Their practice continues to explore how analogue and digital methods intersect, embracing both control and chance to evoke imagined and remembered places.
